implanon

Starting in June, we will be offering the IMPLANON® contraceptive implant.  IMPLANON® is a small, thin, implantable hormonal contraceptive inserted under the skin on the underside of the upper arm that is effective for up to three years. It was approved in July, 2006 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Some of the advantages of Implanon are:

  • Effective – IMPLANON® is more than 99% effective: the chance of getting pregnant is less than 1 pregnancy per 100 women who use IMPLANON® for 1 year when IMPLANON® is inserted correctly.
  • Discreet - Most women can’t see IMPLANON® after insertion.
  • Long-acting – One IMPLANON® provides up to 3 full years of contraceptive protection.

To find out more about Implanon, visit their website at http://www.implanon-usa.com, or schedule an appointment with one of our doctors.

It looks like spring is FINALLY here, and with it the start of the spring and summer flying season.  To celebrate, we’re offering FAA Second and Third Class medical exams for $75 for the entire month of May!  Don’t let an expired medical certificate keep you on the ground, wishing you were flying.  Call Kristy or Michelle for details, and to schedule an appointment.

We’ve had a number of patients call us, afraid that they might have contracted Influenza A.  The hospital Emergency Department, as well as local Urgent Care Centers have been overwhelmed with people requesting tests for Influenza, so starting Monday, May 4th, we will be testing for Influenza in our in-house lab.
